Barry E. Schapiro, M.D., F.A.A.O.S.
Dr. Schapiro is a Board Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Florida in 1994, graduating with distinction on the President’s Honor Roll for having a perfect 4.0 Grade Point Average. Dr. Schapiro received his medical degree from the University of Miami in 2000, graduating in the top 10% of his class and a member of Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. He completed his orthopaedic residency at Henry Ford Health Systems in Detroit, MI in 2005. Dr. Schapiro was awarded the Robert H. Frost, M.D. Memorial Award for Outstanding Research while a resident. He was inducted into Fellowship in the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons in 2007.
Dr. Schapiro was born and raised in South Florida and embraces the cultural diversity of the region. Dr. Schapiro specializes in minimally invasive surgical techniques and arthroscopy of the knee, shoulder, wrist, and ankle as well as complex ligament reconstruction, joint replacement surgery of the knee, hip, and shoulder and fracture treatment, having received his trauma training at the premier Level I Trauma Center in Detroit.
Denise Andrade, PA-C
Denise Andrade grew up in Maryland and recieved her Bachelor of Science in Physiology and Neurobiology. She attended the Nova Southeastern University Physician Assistant program where she graduated with honors. She has been involved in the practice of pain management since becoming a physician assistant in 1999. She is a nationally certified physician assistant by the NCCPA and is well versed in the diagnosis and management of orthopaedic and spine problems.
Dr. Monica McPhail-Pruitt, M.D.
As a graduate of Northwest University and a detailed graduate of studies completed at University of Michigan Medical Center, Dr. Monica McPhail-Pruitt is an important part of the OLSS surgical team. Her expertise in anesthesiology makes many of our diagnostic and therapeutic procedures possible. She not only administers anesthesia services but also provides perioperative pain management. She will be glad to assist you with any questions you may have prior to your surgical anesthesiology or post op pain management.
LewJack Dorance, PA-C
Lewjack was born in Nairobi, Kenya, and raised overseas until moving to the US at age thirteen. After receiving a B.A. from the University of North Carolina, Lewjack attended Duke University’s Physician Assistant program, graduating with honors in 1988. He has 23 years surgical experience, primarily in orthopaedics, with research experience in evaluation and design of orthopaedic prostheses (knee, hip, spine, and shoulder) including biomechanics of the musculoskeletal system.
Dr. Anthony Hall, M.D.
Dr. Hall has completed an Internship in General Surgery at Brookdale Hospital, Brooklyn, NY then completed his residency in Neurological Surgery at the University of Miami. He entered private practice in Southeast Florida in 1995. He has faculty appointments at Nova Southeastern University College of Medicine and the Herbert Wertheim Florida International University College of Medicine. He has also lectured and taught students from Barry University and the University of Alabama. He has developed and practiced minimally invasive and endoscopic surgical techniques for the brain and spine since 1993. He has performed research in spinal electrophysiology. He is the President Elect of the Miami-Dade Chapter of the National Medical Association. He is certified by the American Board of Independent Medical Examiners and American Board of Neurological Surgery. He is a member of the Congress of Neurological Surgeons, American Association of Neurological Surgeons, and the Florida Neurosurgical Society. He is a Florida State Expert Medical Advisor for the Division of Workers Compensation. He has been a consultant for several spine equipment companies and performs charity medical care in several countries.
Dr. Jeffrey Oppenheimer, M.D.
Dr. Jeffrey H. Oppenheimer received his B.A. from Cornell University in 1979. He graduated from Georgetown University School of Medicine in 1984. He completed his residency in Neurosurgery at the University of Southern California-Los Angeles County Medical Center. Dr. Oppenheimer became a board certified Neurological Surgeon in 1993. Dr. Oppenheimer has special skills in minimally invasive spinal fusions. He has spent decades mastering and perfecting his techniques to allow a patient to undergo outpatient spinal fusions for both the cervical and lumbar spine. He has been published in several medical publications and is a member in good standing with Congress of Neurological Surgeons, American Association of Neurological Surgeons, AMA and North American Spine Society. Dr. Oppenheimer currently services the following offices: Altamonte Springs, Ft. Myers, Jacksonville, Orlando, and Palm Beach Gardens. Dr. Oppenheimer is also fluent in Spanish and German.
